Launching into World Space Week
,Description
Join us as we kick off World Space Week 2026, a weeklong celebration of astronomy and space exploration. Throughout September—Member Appreciation Month—Members can purchase a model rocket kit. Sign up in the Membership Building for the October 4 launch. These are the very rockets our Planetarium staff use with students. Build and decorate one together as a family, then bring it back on Sunday, October 4, the first day of World Space Week. We'll help you launch your creation over the Mystic River, watch it glide back down to the water, and our Sailing Center staff will retrieve it for you to keep as a souvenir. It's a voyage of discovery for the whole family!
Between September 1 and 30, purchase your kit online or in person and register for the October 4 launch. Rockets must be picked up in the Membership Building.
Tickets are no longer available online for this event. Please contact our Membership team for latest availability at membership@mysticseaport.org or call 860-572-5339.
