Mystic Seaport Museum is an outdoor maritime history museum featuring a recreated 19th-century seaport village, a working shipyard, numerous exhibition buildings, a planetarium, and opportunities to get out on the water. The Museum is open year-round and offers exhibits, special events, programs, and a daily schedule of activities that change on a seasonal basis. Timed admission is not required. During the winter months, visitors are able to access the north campus as well as board the world’s last whaleship, the Charles W. Morgan, at a reduced ticket price. In the spring, the Museum opens the seaport village and the Henry B. du Pont Preservation Shipyard where historic vessels are maintained and restored. In late May and into the summer, the Museum adds opportunities for visitors to get out on the water through waterfront tours on the steamboat Sabino, private sails on the catboat Breck Marshall, and through the Boathouse where rowboats, a pedal boat, and sail boats are available for use free of charge.
Seasonal offerings such as planetarium shows, river cruises, and toy boat building are available for additional fees.
FREE parking is available in the lot across the street at the North Entrance facing the Thompson Exhibition Building (GPS Address: 104 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic, CT) and at the South Entrance across the street from the large red tugboat, Kingston II (GPS Address: 50 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic CT 06355).
