Passion on the Chesapeake: Minorities in Aquaculture
,Description
Join us for a virtual conversation with Imani Black as she shares her experiences as a shellfish aquaculturist, founding and building her nonprofit Minorities In Aquaculture (MIA), and her graduate research exploring the Chesapeake Bay through an ecological anthropology lens and perspective at the University of Maryland's Center for Environmental Sciences (UMCES) Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge, MD.
This presentation is an opportunity to learn more about aquaculture and gain a better understanding of why local cultural preservation is so important to the future conservation of the Chesapeake Bay.
